Maurice Millar

Maurice is an expert in sustainable energy; from energy planning for islands to district heating; from ground-source heat pumps to bio-energy; from wind turbines to solar PV; from electric vehicles to energy storage. He has worked on several European collaboration projects which provided access to products and insights into sustainable energy new practice.

Maurice worked in the electricity industry in the 1990s before joining an energy consultancy in 1999. Since then he has participated in a diverse and wide range of consultancy assignments for industrial, commercial and public sector clients. This has included feasibility studies for wind, solar-PV, biomass heating and CHP; ROC, FITs and RHI accreditations (including IRMA reports); strategic interpretations of OFGEM regulations and BEIS policies; review and assessment of energy supply contracts (particularly district heating); energy emissions modelling for new-build developments; CHP-Ready heat surveys; and wood-fuel conditioning.

He holds an MBA from Heriot-Watt University, a BSc in Engineering Science from the University of Edinburgh and a Master of Philosophy (Wind Energy Engineering) from Edinburgh Napier University.
